Working at Height Safety and Rescue (WAHSR02)

The key to protecting yourself at height is not only ensuring you have the right equipment but the right training. Our training can give you the knowledge you need for occasionally working at height.

Course Aim

This course is aimed at personnel who are required to work at height. Each delegate will gain knowledge and skills that will enable them plan and select the correct equipment for working at height and rescue activities. Delegates will plan for a rescue and be able to demonstrate a rescue using relevant equipment if a person has fallen over the edge or off a ladder.

Course Content

Day One

  • Relevant regulations & legislation
  • Hierarchy of Working at Height
  • Working at Height categories and correct types of Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE)
  • Anchor points – horizontal and vertical personal fall protection systems
  • Anchor points – eyebolts, mobile anchors
  • Harness and lanyard pre-use checks and fitting
  • Identify need for a rescue plan
  • Roof access, egress, and hazards
  • Fixed ladder techniques with fall arrest/ work positioning lanyards
  • Practical of fall protection equipment

Day Two

  • Practical use of fall protection equipment
  • Rescue Planning
  • IKAR controlled descent device for rescue (please let us know if you use a different rescue device)
  • Practical Fixed ladder & roof rescue of a casualty

Course Assessment

  • Written assessment
  • Practical assessment
  • Two Days
  • Maximum of 6 people
  • Training Academy or on-site
  • Eurosafe Certificate
  • Valid for 3 years
